INTERNSHIP - Internships in the USA

What Is It?

• Program has been created for all students between the end of the 1st year and 6 months after the final graduate.



• Program's aim are internships in your studies sector in the USA.
  



• Internships can be paid or unpaid. If they're unpaid (or paid less than 750 USD per month) you should prove having enough money to pay your stay in the USA.

• Internship sectors:
  
  - Art and Culture
  - Journalism
  - School, Social science, Library science, Consultancy
  - Marketing, Banking and Finance (with Hotel marketing)
  - Health services (but not Medecine)
  - Engineering, Architecture, Mathematics
  - Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing
  - Administration and Law.
  
  Internship in Hotel marketing requires change of company department every 3 months, it should be indicated in the agreement (Employer Section).
  
  
• Internship sectors NOT ACCEPTED by CIEE program:
  
  - Looking after children and elderly people as well as working as a baby-sitter or a housekeeper
  - Youth camps as Camp counselor
  - Pedagogy, Teaching or School assistant
  - Medicine, Psychology or Rehabilitation
  - Internship as a member of ship or plane staff
  - Veterinary
  - In cooperation with temporary work agencies or employment offices
  
  
  
• During internship you can't change employer or work in another company in the same time.
  
  
• You can stay in the USA up to 30 days after your J-1 visa expires.
  
  
• Program lasts 2-19 months, of which up to 18 months of internship.
  
  
• Program includes:
  
  - DS-2019 form required in J-1 visa procedures (compulsory to be legal intern in the USA)
  - full insurance according to the American standards
  - assistance and help of CIEE Boston office in urgent situation
  
  
• Cost from 430 USD (2 months program) to 1515 USD (19 months program)
  
  
• Cost doesn't include:
  
  - processing fee (350 PLN)
  - transport Poland-USA-Poland
  - visa (paid in American consulate)
  - accomodation, board and pocket money
  - transport in the USA
  
  
  
• Procedures step by step :
  
  - selection of employer in the USA
  - signing of the agreement with Almatur
  - completed application form and passport photocopy (page with photo and J-1 visa)
  - DS-2019 form after payment
