Au Pair USA Program has been created for 18-26 year old secondary school graduates. It's a cultural exchange program organized in cooperation with our experienced American partner (one of the first Au Pair programs managers) and supervised by the American authorities. In exchange for childcare, the host family provides the Au Pair with accommodation, board and pocket money. The program gives you the possibility to know very well the country - its culture, inhabitants and tradition and to learn English in everyday contact with the host family.

Usually, the program lasts one year but it's possible to extend it up to 2 years.

You can work as an Au Pair if:

• you're 18 - 26 year old (you must arrive in the USA before you're 27 year old)
• you're secondary school graduate
• you speak English well enough to communicate
• you love children and have experience in childcare
• you have driving licence (you must have international driving licence before departure)
• you have police clearance report
• you're healthy
• you've never participated in Au Pair USA Program before
• you agree to spend at least one year in the USA
• you give us completed application form and you pass recruitment interview

You receive :

• DS-2019 form required in J-1 visa procedures (compulsory to work legally as an Au Pair in the USA)
• two way ticket for flight from some European cities to New York*
• orientation and training program in New York (5 days)
• 4 nights in hotel in New Jork
• accommodation in carefully selected host family
• help of our American partner during the program
• health insurance according to the American standards during all program
• 500 USD study grant
• contact with other Au Pairs and local coordinator
• additional month to travel through the USA before coming back home

* Au Pair will receive ticket to come back home after the agreed end of the program. If Au Pair doesn't respect the agreement she/he must pay ticket to come back home on her/his own.

Host family provides Au Pair with:

• own room
• board
• pocket money (about 556 USD per month)
• 500 USD study grant and help in choosing classes
• at least 1,5 free day per week and 1 free weekend per month (from friday evening to monday morning)
• fortnight of paid holidays
• transport from New Jork to the host family

Au Pair duties:

1) childcare

• up to 45 hours per week but no more than 10 hours per day
• preparing simple meals for children, dressing children, taking them to and collecting from school, after-school activities and so on, helping them in homework, taking them for a walk, playing with them and other
2) help in homemaking (tidying, ironing, help in preparing meals)
3) cleaning her/his own room
4) paying her/his own bills (phone, shopping and so on)
5) subscription to at least 2 classes during the program (if it costs more than 500 USD school grant Au Pair must pay the difference)

Program cost : 290 PLN + 300 USD

Program cost doesn't include :

• transport in the USA
• flight transfers
• visa (100 USD)
• SEVIS fee (35 USD)
• cost of police clearance report (50 PLN)
• transport from the host family to New York after the program

How to become an Au Pair?

1) take an appointment for recruitment interview in English (to know better your personnality, experience and plans for future-also those linked to your stay in the USA)
2) fill in psychological test
3) give us completed application form (we'll send it to our American partner who begins selection of host family)
4) phone interview with host family
5) required documents for J-1 visa
6) interview with American consul
7) departure to the USA and...great adventure!

As selection of host family takes some time, we advice you to apply at least 3-4 months before planned departure.
